i read this book the summer before i got pregnant. my friend laura recommended it and said "it's a book that teaches you about eating organically". i thought, perfect! i'd been wondering about this whole organic movement. especially since casey was asking me to buy soy milk, omega 3 eggs, and a whole list of things i'd never bought before at the grocery.
well the book was hardly that! i learned later that she had only read the first 10 pages or so. in a nutshell, it's a book about becoming a vegan. the book may not have turned me vegan, though it had a lot of great points, it really changed the way i looked at what i put into my body. it made me realize that i wanted to take care of myself so i could be around for my children and husband. then i became pregnant. you would think that i would have stayed really motivated to continue these lifestyle changes, but the cravings and exhaustion got the best of me.
if you plan to read this book, just be warned that it's not your typical encouraging, "how to" book. if you check out their website you'll see that their motto is:
"Stop Being A Moron and Start Getting Skinny!
If you can't take one more day of self-loathing, you're ready to hear the truth: You cannot keep shoveling the same crap into your mouth every day and expect to lose weight." two words, tough love!
it is a book like i have never read before, but it's pretty hilarious.
you may ask why do i want to re-read this book ... on monday i got an invitation to my 10 year high school reunion weekend which is 2 months away. i'm very blessed to say that my baby weight feel off very quickly, but there is a pair of jeans from college in my closet that i would really like to fit into. and when i read skinny bitch ... i did!
i'll give you a recap of what i learn on friday.
