do you sew?
i think i want to learn how. i think i'm ready.
it sounds like a good new years resolution!
i've got a vision of a cutesy shower curtain to match our lovely hunter green tile bathroom, some bold colorful curtains for the room that is constantly in limbo, and even some fun accent pillows for all around the house.
i have this idea that i could really spice up our little home with a little, okay a LOT of dedication, time, and
patience ... i'm pretty sure that one is key!
do you think i can do it!?!
i'm the type of person that bails at the first sight of frustration.
maybe this is my chance to overcome.
if you sew and you have an opinion, what sewing machine do you have?
do you like it or LOVE it?

my friend margaret neely says if you get one get one that monograms and does appliques too.... so you can make webb's stuff personalized and cute!
ReplyDeletethat's what i was leaning towards ... or at least getting one that i could add that option later (don't know if it works that way?)
ReplyDeleteI bought a sewing machine about 5 years ago because I was supposed to be a natural (my mom can make anything)...after 3 hours of trying to thread it - I but it back in the box and sent it to the dungeon (our basement...it's scary down there!)....It stayed there until this summer - when Alex let me pack up and go to Philadelphia for a week to a sewing camp!...It really wasn't hard at all with a proper teacher!...Look around in nashville for a sewing machine shop that offers lessons...if you buy your machine from them you could probably get them to throw in a few lessons!
ReplyDeleteI have a bernina - It is a GREAT machine...I have heard that it is harder to use than most machines...but I learned on it so it's all I know!....Singer and Brother machines have also been around forever and are usually good....Maybe you could borrow one from someone to learn and if you liked it you could make an investment in one?
thanks becki!! i actually thought of you. i've seen on facebook what you've been doing! so cute! allison sews and has taken lots of classes so she told me she would sit down with me and show me some things. it definitely sounds like that's the way to get started, and to take classes! thanks for your input.
