date night

date night was a great night!

imagine us sitting at this first empty table ...

it wasn't a dark corner, but it did the job and i got that big glass of red wine
... pinot noir!

here i am some years ago at the same restaurant
... oh SO carefree.

we shared a fabulous salad of candied whiskey pistachios, local blue cheese, slithered tomatoes (i think), topped with some divine sweet dressing.

for the entree, the grilled flat-iron steak with cafe butter, house-cut pommes frites, asparagus, smoked ketchup. mmm ... mmm ... magnifique!

casey had the trout ... he said mine was the best.

we came really close to sharing bread pudding, which by the way is my absolute favorite dessert!
but after much debate casey helped me realize that i would be totally mis afterwards.

i was totally happy with the decision by the time we got home.

the night came to a sad close when our babysitter went to her car and realized someone backed into it.
it was parked out front.
SO sad!
she's our favorite and always easy to book last minute.
hope we're not out a sitter!!

thanks case for a wonderful night with my favorite person!
