mums and moccasins

i've told you about my yellow mums in the front, but didn't mention that i bought some huge ones for the back patio.
i think casey was a little stunned when i told him how much i paid for them. and i thought they were a deal!

after he gave me his response, i told him "but they're going to make us so happy". ha!

i can't wait for them to bloom. they're that pretty purpley burgundy color.
i always buy the yellow ones, so it's exciting to have a little change.

webb and i got out the wheel barrel and got to planting.

i'm going to attempt to get his haircut again today.
third times a charm?

doing the frankenstein.
yesterday when he got home from school he was a walking fool.
either he was highly encouraged or trying to impress somebody!

a random daddy and boo moment from last night ..
i'm obsessed with webb's new moccasins from hanna andersson.
they keep his little toes so warm and i love hearing him swish around the house.

prayers for africa

this weekend my brother and sister-in-law will be heading to gulu, uganda on a missions trip with their church. you've probably heard about the suicide bombings that killed 74 people in uganda's capital of kampala over the weekend. gulu is located 200 miles north of kampala. the missions team will still travel to gulu as they feel that this was an isolated event and it was not specifically aimed at americans. you can read more about the group and their trip here.

all i ask is that you pray for my brother regan, his wife allison, and this team going to africa as they serve the lord and an orphanage in gulu. pray for their safety and for them to stay encouraged.

thank you!!

help haiti

earlier today mary-kathryn wrote that one of the main ways people are supporting
the red cross relief efforts in haiti is via text message.

for those interested in helping immediately, simply text "HAITI" to "90999" and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the red cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill.
as of this morning, this mobile giving effort raised more than $3 million.

get more information on the text aid program here.

tonight i also found out about the yele haiti earthquake fund. by going here you can donate to yele haiti which is wycleaf jean's grassroot movement that builds global awareness for haiti.
you can also text "YELE" to "501501" to donate $5 from your cell phone.

you can read more about yele haiti here. wycleaf is haiti's goodwill ambassador.
